The Creative Spark

Children love to explore. They are unhampered by thoughts of messing up or failing to do something just right. Coloring outside the lines looks just as good as coloring inside the lines to a child. Pablo Picasso said that "every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.” What is YOUR art, and what are some of the challenges you face that prevent you from allowing your childhood artist to emerge?

Remember you should post no later than midnight on 3-15-11.

Here's my response: My art is writing. When I was a child, I would cut pictures out of magazines and paste them on pieces of construction paper. Underneath the pictures, I would write a story that tied all the pictures together. I would bind the pages together, create a title page, and present these books to loved ones. It is my desire to become a published writer, but one of the things that holds me back is a lack of time. There are so many other things I let impinge on my time that I don't feel I have adequate time to write. However, if I just sat down at a certain time every day and wrote for even half an hour, I would get closer to letting that child artist within come peeking out.

  1. My childhood artist is becoming a nurse or working in the medical field. When I was a child I always played the nurse with my dolls, they were sick all the time and I would cure them. When I became old enough to work I started working at the hospital as a CNA. People became my dolls and they were sick all the time too.

  3. As a child and attending a performance art school, I always struggle with theater. I always wanted to become an actor, and star in big budget films, and plays. Growing up my parent tried there hardest to make my dream a reality. But as I grew up, I lost interest and became alittle demanding. I always like being the leader and bossing my friends around. Now, I've come to the conclusion that I would like to be my own boss. Hense, why I am majoring in Business Management.

  4. My childhood artist was to become a nurse. When I was a child my younger brother was always my patient, being he was my only sibling. I would nurse him back to good health. Whether he had a common cold or had just crashed his 747. The only draw back from becoming a nurse was my fear of needles. My brother would tell my mother when he was really sick, that he did not need to go the dr. He would say "my sister makes me fill better, and she doesn’t hurt me". My passion for caring for the sick has not changed, but I have, I no longer have a fear of needles and here I am.

  5. My art is building. In my childhood, I always loved getting empty cardboard boxes and connecting them together from my room to the bathroom like having a secret path way to get there. Or making a giant fortress around myself. While I was in high school I had shop class for three years and build practical items such as a bookshelf. What is preventing me from pursing it is money because buying all the equipment is expensive. Which career I chose, I want carpentry as a hobby.

  7. Marriage is the death of romance I must say it can go either way it’s up to both individuals to make it work. They have to know many things about each other from financial status to do they get along all the time, and do they like each other. One thing is for certain only time will tell so I disagree. If you know this basic things you can prevent death of your romance in your marriage.

  8. Studying with someone else can pay off in better grades. I must say it can go either way because it depends on your partners determination and your own, if he or she does not want to study he or she can interrupt your studying time but on the other hand if you find someone that is a hard studying person he or she will help, it also depends on your studying tactics, there are a few reasons why it will help your grades first is because your partner will know things you don’t know second he or she will make you see things in a different way and lastly he or she will ask you questions about the material helping you learn and memorize.

  10. One example of what I love to do on my free time is to have a relaxing day.
My day would start with sleeping as much as I can, have breakfast brought to me in bed. After eating my breakfast, I would get up, take a shower and put on sandals, shorts and sunblock and go to the beach. There I will snorkel, and relax on the sand with a Mongolian drink and a beautiful girl by my side. She would have many affects on my state of mind. The snorkeling would wear me out enough to make me thirsty forcing me to grab another Mongolian drink then I would lie on the beach with the beautiful girl where she would entertain me with stories that I would find very intriguing, the Mongolian drink would make me care free. A mixture of all this things leads up to complete relaxation in my book.
